While we are independent of any
particular
association of churches, we have much in common with baptist churches
that
teach the sovereign grace of God.
We identify very strongly with
reformers of the 16th century like John Calvin and the
Puritans of
early America. At the most fundamental level we believe the
following:
Following is a more detailed
description of our beliefs and practices as a church:
OUR NAME
The
King's Chapel was chosen as the name of our congregation for a very
specific purpose. We believe the Bible emphasizes the
preeminence
of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Church. The Church is His
bride,
and He is the King of kings. We determined to adopt a name
that
would emphasize Jesus’ preeminence in our preaching and
teaching.
We continually desire to honor the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in all
we do as a local church. The word ‘Chapel’ was selected because we
believe a church is not a building but God’s people.
OUR STATEMENT
OF FAITH
We
have not adopted a specific statement of faith for The King's
Chapel. However, we agree in nearly all respects with the Second
London Confession of 1689 also known as the Philadelphia
Confession.
